Expect lots of craziness. I just got a call from the birthday girl herself, Sharlese Metcalf of KEXP, and she’s excited about tonight’s party in her honor. Naturally, she should be. But a big reason that’s she in such high spirits is because she’s got two of the freshest party rap groups in the city performing at the Funhouse tonight. THEE Satisfaction, who I’ve been blogging about for months, should go on around 10:30 p.m. and Mad Rad plays close to an hour later. As for the opening act, it’s a mystery as to what Tiffany Stedinsky is going to do, or even what type of music she makes. Metcalf describes her as “this girl named Sunshine that I know…she’s obsessed with Tiffany, and I have no idea what to expect. If she sucks, sorry.” Having a random opener with a stripper name like “Sunshine” kicking off the show is good enough. The fact that she’s obsessed with Tiffany is even better. Like I said, expect craziness.
