Earlier this summer, I wrote up local neo-soul singer SoulChilde Blue Sun, who performs under the name okanomode, in our Best of SeattleR issue as the city’s Best Glamazon. He’s total a divo who is usually sporting better make-up and glitter than every other woman in the room. But he’s not overcompensating for a lack of talent with all of that glam and glitz. Listen to the songs on his MySpace and you’ll see that he’s got an impressive voice and is probably the most eclectic urban arts performers in the city. Tonight he’s performing at the CD Forum’s 10th anniversary Bash at Sole Repair on Capitol Hill. A part of the way the local organization is celebrating their 10th anniversary of doing community work in Seattle’s Central District is by having artists who have received grants from them in the past come out and perform. Chad Goller-Sojourner, Gin Hammond, and Storme Webber are also a part of tonight’s bash. Admission is $10 and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
