Don’tcha love it when you go to see a band — in this case, the David Yow-fronted Qui — and one of the opening acts — in this case, Tacoma noise-punk two-piece Lozen — blows you away? That’s how it went last fall at the Croc, and tonight at the Fun House, singer/guitarist/bassist Hozoji Matheson-Margullis and drummer-singer Justine Valdez will kick out the loud, grimy jams yet again — their twisty time signatures and sinister, screamy fury might remind you a little bit of some old Amphetamine Reptile acts, though these two lovely ladies’ attack is pretty singular, fresh, and mighty. Another great local two-piece, Me Infecto, is on the bill as well. Here’s some Lozen photos I shot at the Croc:
