It’s gotten so that you can’t spit in this town without hitting some hipster on his way to a karaoke jam. Don’t these people know they could just be in a band? Even outside the International District, the nights are teeming with botched versions of “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” So what makes Wednesdays at the Comet so special? Well, hell, we don’t know, but all the cool kids are doing it. And since the long-standing Capitol Hill watering hole only serves vino and hops, they’re doing it without the benefit of hard alcohol, so go figure. The notorious Steve the Karaoke King leads the party, and believe us when we say it’s definitely a party. 922 E. Pike St., 206-323-9853.
