The Croc’s still serving pies ($6.50 for a personal pizza). A green salad is $2.50. Salad, pizza, and drinks.– Charles Peterson: Y’all will remember that Mr. Peterson — along with Alice Wheeler — is the photographer most closely associated with Nirvana, grunge, and Seattle in the ’90s. If you’re thinking about that vintage Nirvana pic, it was probably taken by Peterson. The new permanent collection — “Come Out, Come Out Tonight” — is Peterson’s first, and includes images from his recent breakdance book, Cypher, as well as old-school fare featuring Kurt Cobin, Mia Zapata, Layne Staley, and Courtney Love’s ass. The opening reception goes down from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14.I have to admit, that it’s been too long since I’ve seen a show at the Croc, so I’m unfamiliar with the post-Trib changes — walls are gone, etc. But I will be watching this evolution with great interest. What the new Croc was missing, in my opinion, was the casual, laid-back feel of a bar that also served live music. The club’s new setup — the bar’s open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily — may just fix that.
