Bremerton’s Ben Gibbard.Seattle Theater Group’s Adam Zacks told me this morning that Death Cab’s not skipping Seattle entirely for their sold-out (in nine minutes) Bremerton show. He said the band will be announcing a major Seattle date next week. Zacks, who also books Sasquatch! said he didn’t know what the Seattle show was. He did, however, say we should expect the full Sasquatch! lineup to be announced on Monday. Alright, so the major Seattle Death Cab show and Sasquatch! will be announced next week … coincidence? The only Sasquatch! details Zacks would volunteer is that they’ve added a comedy tent, and that the fest at The Gorge will swell back to three days: Saturday, May 24 through Monday, May 26.In regards to why DCFC decided to play a Bremerton show, Zacks STG and the band have had conversations about playing venues in markets which major acts like DCFC acts typically skip. STG’s not opposed to putting on another show at Bremerton’s Admiral Theater, or other historic spaces around the State, like Port Townsend’s Fort Warden.”It fits in with our mission,” he said. “It is something we’ve been looking at. Through the process of things we’ve discovered a number of really cool theaters.”
