Berlin based electronica artist Peaches was working the whole sans panties shtick light years before Lady GaGa picked up her disco stick. The former school teacher, known for her adrogynous appearance and sexually provocative material, is slated to play the Showbox on June 1. I was looking forward to my interview with Peaches–someone I’m sure is interesting as hell to talk to–until last week when her publicist said the offer was being retracted unless I could promise to run a cover story. Um, sorry. That’s not how it works. It’s annoying as fuck when an artist’s camp tries to make you trade coverage for access. I still love Peaches, but her record label can kiss my ass.
