As the world undergoes a quadruple bypass Mack Attack, here are a few noteworthy headlines from homeboy’s ceaseless domination of the press: On Wednesday, dude was the inspiration for our feature about selling out,

). On Friday, he and his producer Ryan Lewis were honored at the Grammy Nomination ceremony with seven nominations including Best Rap Album (The Heist), Best Rap Song (“Thrift Shop”), and Best Rap Performance (“Thrift Shop”). (Sidenote: fellow Northwesterner Neko Case also grabbed a nod for Best Alternative Music Album.) On Sunday, the United Nations LGBT Equality Campaign launched its Human Rights Day Video (above) set to the tune of none other than “Same Love.” And starting tonight, Macklemore and Lewis play a three-day-long sold out run at Key Arena. Stay tuned for Kelton Sears’ review of the rapper’s first homecoming show tonight. Oh, there’s this, too: Macklemore Confirms Sir-Mix-A-Lot Will Open Tomorrow’s Key Arena Show.

Tonight

Fin Records

celebrates three years as one of the finest local labels around with an anniversary party at Conor Byrne. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., is 21 and up, and entry is FREE! There’s lots of great music on the bill, too: Kairos, Seacats, Low Hums, and Tangerine will all perform. Way to put on a show, Fin Recs! Here’s to many more years of great music (and that sick marbled vinyl).

In other news, as we reported last week, tomorrow Mudhoney will play Full Tilt’s launch party of its new flavor, Mudhoney (that’s honey cinnamon with a fudge swirl) at Full Tilt’s flagship White Center shop. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. More info on that

We also learned last week that guitar slayer and Seattle transplant

Reignwolf

will head out on the road with Black Sabbath in support of its upcoming Canadian tour. That tour kicks off April 3, but the axe man, who also goes by Jordan Cook and currently has a new single, “In The Dark”, streaming on Rolling Stone, will play Australia and some American dates before then, including a show with Hobosexual and Ravenna Woods at the Neptune December 28th.

Speaking of performances, The Head and the Heart will make a few high profile TV appearances in the coming week. Tomorrow, the band makes “their first ever appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” says a Sub Pop press release, and “the following week, the band will perform “Another Story” on Conan.” The band, of course, is no stranger to TV; the group made their TV debut in 2011 on Conan, and recently performed a few cuts from its latest album, Let’s Be Still, on CW’s Hart of Dixie. Finally, while we’re talking videos, synth pop trio The Flavr Blue was recently interviewed shortly before a show at the Mercury Lounge in New York. Rap blog 206Up.com shares the video

; it’s a short and sweet introduction to the band’s chilled out, groove ready beats. And the graffiti in the background (from what appears to be the lounge’s green room?) is just so edgy. Somebody wrote, simply, poetically, “Toni Braxton.” You just don’t see that shit in Seattle. Best tag I’ve seen today reads, in fluorescent green lettering, “lick.”
