As I find myself surfing local MySpace pages from time to time, one of the catchiest bands I’ve come across recently is Born Anchors. Every time an email from Chris Estey leads me back to their page, I’m glad to be there and find myself lost in fuzzy rock tunes like “Cascading” and “In Disguise” which somehow feel brand new and timeless. Both of those songs will be included on the band’s album, Sprezzatura, out at the end of this month. They’ve also got me curious to see what the hell this band sounds like live, and in case you haven’t seen them yet (like me) tonight is a good night to go and be surprised. They’re playing a show tonight at El Corazon with Dear and the Headlights and Miniature Tigers that sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I’m thinking Born Anchors is going to be the best band of the night. Just a feeling. The show starts at 7 p.m., it’s an all ages show and tickets are $12.
