In addition to not promoting the album well, Simon says Starbucks hurt her ability to move units of This Kind of Love at full price when the roaster slashed the price of the album, presumably to get them the hell out of stores. We think Simon has a case here. Surely her poor album sales has everything to do with Starbucks and nothing to do with the fact that it ain’t, ya know, 1980.
