Always Tired- consignment (2010) from Carlos LOPEZ on Vimeo. The above video is for a song called “Always Tired” by Consignment, a Seattle band that kicks crusty, lo-fi jams and records them to tape. Carlos Lopez, a member of similar Seattle outfit Scraps, directed the video; you have already seen his work, in fact, if you’ve seen the video for the Dutchess and the Duke’s song “Mary.” Though the sound quality of Consignment’s songs is about as low as lo-fi can get before descending into complete static, the music underneath all that hissing and popping is well-worth checking out in a live setting, where the lyrics should be slightly more decipherable and the fuzz factor toned down a titch. Fortunately for those of you who like myself, appreciate and even revere the fuzz factor, Consignment is playing a show tonight at the High Dive along with Scraps and Ziskis. It starts at 8 p.m. and costs $6.
