Rabid Hawks fans are hoarse and thirsty this week after Sunday’s victory over the Panthers. They have the fever, and the only cure is cheese. So John Howie’s SPORT Restaurant and Bar will be providing that magic elixir in multiple forms through culinary alchemy this upcoming Friday beginning at 5 p.m. Come drink “Beast Mode” cocktails and local drafts such as a $3 pint of Fremont IPA and munch on “cheesehead” items including deep fried mozzarella, fried cheese curds, cheese pizza, and the grilled cheese sandwich. The Pack won’t know what hit them this Sunday.

For discerning drinkers – the Michael Mina group has designed a new program to assist in the discovery of new spirits, varietals and cocktails. Throughout January, RN74 will highlight flights featuring white and red Burgundy selections by the glass or half glass or as part of a flight to experience the differences in terroir and winemaking. For more information on this month’s selection, check out the Down the Hatch menu online.

Fans of Food and Sh*t’s pop up Filipino dinners will be happy to learn that the next event is scheduled for Monday, January 19th at Inay’s with two seatings at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Diners will be treated to food inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King on his celebratory day with a meal titled MAKIBAKA: A Revolutionary Dinner in honor of the history of anti-colonial resistance in the Philippines. Traditional dishes such as Lapu-Lapu Escabeche, Tinola na Manok and Pinakbet ken Bagnet will be featured. For reservations check out the following link.
