Fans of Percy’s & Co. on the burgeoning blocks of Ballard Ave. will be happy to learn that there’s a new Chef in town and his name is Derek May. May was most recently Chef de Cuisine at Capitol Hill fave Quinn’s and prior to that he was at Ethan Stowell’s How to Cook a Wolf and Anchovies and Olives. With a focus on local (including a rooftop herb garden), Percy’s promises hearty Southern-style fare that’ll stick to your ribs. Bonus – they have a heated patio with movies every Monday night in December. Good times.

Fabio is coming to town. No, not that Fabio. It’s Chef Fabio Viviani made famous from his appearances on Top Chef and a host of other television appearances. And by his lovely Italian accent which opens hearts, minds and mouths to delicious food. He’ll be appearing at the University District Book Store on Monday, December 8th at 2pm to sign his latest book Fabio’s American Home Kitchen: More Than 125 Recipes With an Italian Accent. So come meet the man, talk food, and potentially be mesmerized by this Italiano culinary champ.

Well, it appears that it’s time to start planning New Year’s Eve events and we’ll begin what is sure to be a month-long hit list with this: Upper Fremont’s RockCreek and Chef Eric Donnelly are prepping several celebratory specials for the big night which will be replete with party hats, horns and champagne toasts at midnight. Call 206.557.7532 for reservations to what is sure to be a classic nautically-themed event of titanic proportions.
