As if we needed another excuse to drink high end bourbon…Daniel’s Broiler Bellevue is holding their annual Bourbon Bash this Sunday, March 7th at 5 p.m. More than 100 bourbons will be available to sample including a selection of the much sought-after Pappy Van Winkle. A vast array of local and national distillers will be present to help bourbon imbibers through the event. Hopefully after participating they’ll also help them find the elevator. The event is $100/pp and includes heavy apps as well as a tasting guide and commemorative tasting glass. Reservations are required and can be made online.

For those of you who didn’t know, apparently March has been declared by someone to be ‘Seattle Burger Month’. And so the celebration begins with Li’l Woody’s featuring burger specials designed by different chefs throughout the month. First up is Maria Hines from Golden Beetle who has built a burger that is made with harissa aioli, lettuce, pickled serranos & onion, gruyere swiss, baharat seasoned 1/3 pound northwest grass fed beef, and mayonnaise with Sumac dusted fries. Other chefs featured this month include Matt Dillon of Sitka and Spruce, Renee Erickson of The Whale Wins and Brendan McGill of Hitchcock. Score.

For those of you wanting to be part of something cool in the food world here is your opportunity, Chef Edouardo Jordan of Bar Sajor has just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the development of his future restaurant in the Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle. The spot will be called Salare and those of us craving better and more dining options in North Seattle are excited. If you are interested in contributing and learning more about Chef Jordan you can check out the campaign and his story here.
