The proposed grocery was opposed by former mayor Mike McGinn and raised the hackles of a vocal faction of West Seattleites. The current discussion involves a proposed alley vacation, which the anti-Whole Foods faction is against.

2. Pike Place Market is selling advance tickets for its annual Arcade Lights tasting festival on April 25. The after-hours event involves a spread of over 60 local purveyors, including Starbucks, Rachel’s Ginger Beer, Mt. Townsend Creamery and Delve Kitchen. Attendees receive 10 tokens redeemable for food and drinks, with additional tokens available for purchase.
