1. Seattle-based donut chain Top Pot is following in Vita, Via Tribunali and Beecher’s footsteps. Zagat reports that in 2014 the first Top Pot will open in NYC. But even Seattleites who can’t stand the Big Apple have reason to cheer. According to Zagat, you might soon find cocktails (!) to wash down that cinnamon sugar old fashioned at Top Pot’s flaghsip store on 5th Avenue in Seattle, as well as various “dessert-like donuts.” Bottoms, and Tops, up!

2. Chef Jason Wilson’s Miller’s Guild gears up for its official mid-December launch with several soft opening dinners. The four-course menu centers around seafood, meats and veggies prepared on a custom-built, nine-foot-long wood-fired grill. Cost for the December 7 and 11-13 meal is $75; visit MillersGuild.com for reservations.

3. Mighty Ramen hosts the first in a series of pops-up at The Dish’s Green Lake location on Monday, December 9. House-made noodles and more will be available from 4:00 to 11:00 pm; slurping is optional. Check Facebook for details.

4. You can learn how to make Swedish potato sausage and traditional holiday decorations at the Swedish Cultural Center on Sunday, December 1. The 2:00 to 4:00 pm event is free and open to the public.
