1. First-time restaurateur Javier Dalzell is opening Sur 16 on Capitol Hill’s 15th Avenue in the former Bagel Deli space. The menu will utilize local ingredients and Pacific Northwest seafood in “a clash of the culinary techniques from when Spain conquered Mexico,” reports Capitol Hill Seattle. Dalzell hopes to open in August.
2. West Seattle is getting a new burger joint. Burger Boss is set to open in the former Circle K site in South Delridge, according to the West Seattle Blog. A soft opening is tentatively scheduled for mid-May after a year of remodeling the space.
3. Seattle has some tough amateur restaurant critics. The Georgia Institute of Technology and Yahoo Labs compared online restaurant reviews from major U.S. cities and found Seattleites to be particularly harsh compared to reviewers from cities with better weather. Seattle Met has the full story.
