1. Capitol Hill breakfast, lunch and liquids spot Juicebox is launching a series of weekly dinners this Friday, January 24. Guest chefs will prepare one-night-only family-style meals, starting with Arabic-themed eats from La Bete’s Taylor Cheney. Later evenings will be presented by La Bodega’s Manu Alfau and Il Corvo’s Mike Easton. Buy tickets for the $90 multi-course dinners here.

2. While we’re on the Hill, Kamala Saxton and Roz Edison from Marination are now partners in Spanish cafe Chico Madrid. That means you can expect cocktails, paella dinners and more events at the 800-square-foot space at the Belroy on Bellevue Ave.

3. Area coffee companies earned nods at last week’s Good Food Awards ceremony in San Francisco. The fourth annual event recognizes purveyors of specialty edibles and imbibables from across the country. Ten cafes received medallions, including three from Washington State: Seattle-based Kuma Coffee for Kenya Kiamabara AA, Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. for Ethiopia Konga and Spokane-based Roast House for Batzchocola Guatemala, sourced by Atlas Coffee Importers in Ballard.
