1. Pike Place Market is slated to open Atrium Kitchen later this month on the ground level of the Economy Building at First Ave. and Pike St. The 600-square-foot industrial demonstration space for area chefs and market vendors features a 10-burner range, work tables and seating for up to 14. Atrium Kitchen presents its first event–a Beaujolais Nouveau concert cabaret hosted by market eatery Maximilien–on Thursday, November 21. Happenings scheduled through the end of the year include cooking demos by Andaluca’s Sarah Lorenzen and Madison Park Conservatory’s Cormac Mahoney.

2. Chef Jason Wilson is raising funds via Kickstarter to support the cask-aged spirits program, nose-to-tail butchery and 75-day dry-aged beef program at his forthcoming Miller’s Guild in the Hotel Max. Backers gain access to perks like butchery classes and preview dinners. More here.

3. A far cry from its days occupying a former Mickie D’s, Green Bean Coffeehouse is open in the new Piper Village building on Greenwood Ave. The bright, shiny space includes house-made pastries and a kids play area. Hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

4. Watch your back, kale. Broccoli is getting a makeover.
