1. Bento box pop-up Bloom has officially gone brick-and-mortar. Chef/owner Jason Harris opened shop yesterday in the former Le Marche space at 5410 17th Ave. NW in Ballard. Hours are 4:00 to 10:00 pm seven days a week.

2. The Hill already houses its share of bustling pastry shops, including new(ish) arrivals Bakery Nouveau and Crumble and Flake. Now Madison Valley’s Ines Patisserie is getting in on the action. CHS reports that the bakery plans to open a new location at 111 E. Union by Valentine’s Day 2014.

3. The just-opened Ballard Ave. restaurant Stoneburner added a new pastry chef to its roster: Former Canlis pastry sous chef Elizabeth Shoemaker is rolling out her first dessert menu, including goat yogurt panna cotta with honey figs and anise hyssop semifreddo with honeydew granite and plums.

4. Gluten-free drinkers and apple-lovers rejoice! Two Beers Brewing is launching sister business Seattle Cider Company with an event at the Two Beers tasting room on August 24 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. Pints of new offerings will be served, featuring a Gin Botanical cider made especially for the party with a spice and herb infusion supplied by local distillery Batch 206.
