Watermelon juice normally means stringy, pithy, flat weirdness, but icon Grill’s housemade watermelon puree is heavy on the perfume of the giant fruit, and they strain it, better for making adult beverages. They’re serving a watermelon mojito and a watermelon cooler made with limoncello, along with a watermelon lemonade. The flavor of the, let’s face it, usually less than spectacular fruit really comes through in these drinks. So good for you watermelon (head pat), for having your own special day. These bevvies are also a fine accompaniment to the 1/2 off bar food during happy hour, which includes fried steak fingers and meatloaf sliders. Oh, and pork drummies. Yeah, that’s right. Pork. Drumsticks. Served with cherry BBQ sauce and blue cheese, don’t knock ’em til you try ’em.
