Voracious’ Maggie Savarino noticed Wednesday that the Sbux next door to Linda Derschang’s Smiths looked awfully similar. According to today’s PI, Savarino was right on the money; Sbux was apparently quite intentional about making their store look as similar as possible to Smith’s. On a side note, the PI story makes mention of the Peso’s/Matador suit over similar-looking interiors and menus, saying the settlement terms weren’t disclosed. While the terms aren’t listed in court records, Peso’s attorney Daniel Woo told the Weekly there was a cash settlement in the $250,000 range along with a few required interior changes.
