Galer St. is accepting new or gently used coats (from newborn to teen sizes) for local non-profit the Atlantic Street Center. In exchange, diners will receive a complimentary Margherita pie.In other news, Macrina Bakery’s Leslie Mackie will be at Mercer Island’s Island Books at 3014 78th Ave. SE tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. She’s signing copies of More from Macrina: New Favorites from Seattle’s Popular Neighborhood Bakery. Free samples will be on-hand. If you’re in the mood for coffee after sampling of Mackie’s recipes, you can head next door: Jewish deli Stopsky’s is offering “meshuganog” (egg nog lattes) on its holiday menu.
