Tucked snugly behind the hustle and bustle of downtown Seattle is the International District, just waiting to be explored. I went for a walk through it on a sunny Thursday afternoon, kicking myself for not visiting this part of the city more often. Shops tend to be small, but they are overflowing with trinkets and Asian herbs and spices. As I ducked in and out of stores and eateries I was torn as to which place to go into next. There were pastries, bubble tea, or dim sum at every turn. If you want to get lost on a beautiful afternoon in Seattle, only to find yourself surrounded by cream puffs and aquarium tanks, the International District is there for you.All photos by Katie Killeen.Published on April 29, 2010
