Tomorrow, Wednesday April 22nd from 11:00am to close, the Pike Pub (1415 1st Avenue), with help of Seattle Greendrinks, hosts the first ever Carrotmob event. Let’s break that down. Seattle Greendrinks is a monthly networking social for those interested in all manner of issues both environmental and sustainable. A Carrotmob is a group of consumers, much like a flash mob, that descends upon a business to reward that business for an increased commitment to being green. The Pike Pub has agreed to reinvest 25% of tomorrow’s sales into retrofits and other improvements that will increase the pub’s efficient use of energy and decrease waste. Carrotmob will deliver the people to make sure that 25% is as large a number it can be. Consumer bribery for a good cause, I like it.
