Phinney Ridge re-welcomes a Thai favorite: New’s Noodles at 8576 Greenwood Ave. N. opened again after a fire last November forced a temporary closure for repairs. The Thai restaurant debate ensues: Will this weekend be one of culinary adventures in the uncharted territory of Bang Bar or soothing comfort in the familiarity of New’s Noodles?Downtown, Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop opened at Fourth and Pike. Will Jimmy John’s and Subway cave to the competition? Stay tuned. In Belltown, The Lucky Diner opened at 2630 First Ave., a new prospect for post-thirsty Thursday celebrations. Unfortunately, the recession forced the neighborhood to say adios to Spanish restaurant Taberna del Alabardero at 2328 First Ave. Edmonds similarly lost Olives wine bar at 107 Fifth Ave. N. to economic hardship.
