The King County Dept of Public Health announced today that it closed Spiced: Truly Chinese Cuisine in Bellevue, the restaurant I reviewed last week, for health violations. The list of violations includes “potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures,” “handwashing facility not working,” and “toxic items improperly stored.” Let’s hope that the Bellevue restaurant inspectors work with Spiced as closely as the inspectors in the International District have with the restaurants on their beat to make sure the chef and staff master their knowledge of state food-safety regulations. When we hear Spiced has reopened, we’ll let you know.
