The good people at Molly Moon’s Ice Cream (1622 1/2 N. 45th

The good people at Molly Moon’s Ice Cream (1622 1/2 N. 45th St. and 917 Pine St.) recognize that winter in Seattle is hard, mornings are drab, and some of us don’t ever wait in line for eggs and toast. Both locations serve bowls of oatmeal with a scoop of their maple bacon ice cream, every Saturday and Sunday, Wallingford from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Capitol Hill from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. That’s maple ice cream with bits of candied bacon. (Photogenic, no. Tasty, yes.) Don’t scoff at ice cream for breakfast, or we can go through a caloric rundown on your favorite brunch entree and grill you on the amount of syrup you put on your three slices of French toast. FUN FACT: You know, Molly Moon… In Sicily they, too, eat ice cream (gelato) for breakfast, two scoops between an egg bread or brioche roll. Just sayin’… If you ever want to expand the breakfast menu…*Molly Moon’s is also offering pumpkin clove ice cream pies for Thanksgiving ($15), graham cracker crust if you’re curious. Each shop will have a stash in the to go freezer, or you can pre-order for pick up (547-5105) on Wednesday the 25th.
