The Chinatown/International District Summer Festival is happening Saturday and Sunday, July 11th and 12th, with music and dancing and street vendors galore lining South King Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues South. The chocolate tasting features Seattle’s very own Theo Chocolates and Carter’s Chocolates from across the sound as well as a host of chocolatiers from around the country, including and Claudio Corallo (so hot right now). It finally makes sense why I got chocolate jewelry from Marco Polo in the mail (they’re exhibiting, I’m supposed to be judging). But, uh, it’s all about family, and neighbors, and a wide array of kick ass music rolling all day, every day. California will be lined with arts and crafts, fair food, and booths from businesses of The Junction and the surrounding hood, and hundreds of West Seattleites delighting in their West Seattledom.
