Special machines exist to help you make your own yogurt at home, but that kind of defeats the purpose of saving money, and they’re a little precious in practice, and take up space. So it’s been a joy to one of my all time favorite kitchen tools, the crock pot, to perfect thick, tangy homemade yogurt. A huge shout out to Stephanie and her blog The Year of Crockpotting. These are the damn simplest and most helpful instructions I’ve ever seen for making yogurt. Organic yogurt. Organic Greek-style yogurt on the cheap. I’ve done this enough times now to share with the class, not my yogurt, just the instructions.
