Some of you love him. Some of you hate him. But when it comes time for the James Beard Award finalists to be announced, odds are he–that being Jason Sheehan–will be among the nominees. And this year is no different, as Sheehan is among three finalists in the review category, pitted against two Angelinos: Patric Kuh of Los Angeles and Jonathan Gold, the Pulitzer Prize-winning food writer at LA Weekly, a sister paper of ours.Sheehan, who joined Seattle Weekly’s staff at the beginning of the year after a prolific run at our Denver sister paper, Westword, has won a Beard Award before and been nominated multiple times. The current nomination recognizes his work at Westword, and hopefully his emerging Seattle oeuvre will garner similar praise in the not-too-distant future. Congrats, Jason!
