“Simple Recipes for Young Beginners” reads the tagline of this small book by Marjorie Noble Osborn. The recipes will fascinate you, with such hits as creamed salmon with peas, Yum Yum cookies, and a personal favorite, amber pudding. This cook book doesn’t mean to be humorous, and flipping through it you might find yourself buying a box of lemon Jello, mini marshmallows, animal crackers and lettuce for an attempt at polar bear salad. If you follow the Google search from openlibrary.com to Google Book Search, it yields nada, but Bing.com brought up a page on vintagecookbook.com for a first edition of the 1934 cookbook, for sale for $44, and a few copies available through Amazon.com stores starting at $9. Race ya.
