Right, this is a competition that’s been going on between my waistline and my wallet. And for my money, Full Sail’s Wassail has bested all competitors in this admitadly young winter/Christmas-beer-drinking season. Why? It’s smooth, with just a hint of that syrupy taste that is the calling card of the high-octane winter beer genre, overdone by Snow Cap. At $5.99 a six-pack (right not at Whole Foods Downtown/SLU) it’s barely more spendy the High Life. At 7 pecent ABV, you don’t have to drink many to get warm. But, now that Jolly Roger’s finally on shelves and handles are making their way around the region, this Hood River beer will see some competition in the next half of the season.
