On a trial basis, beginning with this week’s engagement of Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Inferno, Northwest Film Forum and nearby bistro Cafe Presse have launched what they call Pique-nique. It’s a box-dinner take-out service offering several varieties of baguette and other tasty French fare that you can eat with your hands in the dark. Prices range from $7-$14.50 for the meals, which you can order on the NWFF Web site; the sandwiches will be there when you arrive at the theater. (The movie ticket is separate.) This dinner-and-movie combo is apt, since both are French. The documentary, about the ’60s meltdown of famed director Clouzot (The Wages of Fear), runs through Thurs., Dec. 23. Then NWFF goes dark for the holidays. But if enough moviegoers order food for Inferno, the program may continue in the new year.
