OK, it’s not quite Running Man yet, but we’re getting there, don’t worry. The Hunt Club, Hotel Sorrento’s old school restaurant that can make hipster and granny alike very happy with copious amounts of molding and a wicked happy hour, announced a competition to find the next Executive Chef. The hotel’s brass will select four finalists based on all submitted resumes and bios, and each finalist will run the restaurant for a night–being judged by a panel of experts, with guest comments, on an original menu. The two winners of this round will face off in four courses at a benefit dinner. Does this process foreshadow the expectations the Hotel Sorrento may have of their new chef? Love the idea and I know some chefs that need a gig, but not every chef has the want or wherewithal to be a performer. Applicants have until April 3rd to submit for the position. Send resumes with a bio to thehunt@hotelsorrento.com. The finalist dinners on April 21st – 24th are open to the public for $95 per person, not including tax or gratuity. On April 28th, the two finalists will face off for a a huge dinner at the Seattle Culinary Academy at Seattle Central Community College, suggested donation $250 per person, benefiting the school. Hotel Sorrento will announce the winner and new chef on April 30th. For reservations to any of the above events, contact Cristin Malone of the Hunt Club Restaurant at the above email.
