On Rainier Avenue South, past Taco Time, right before the Taco Bell at the bend, is the best place in the Valley to grab a taco: a refurbished school bus parked at an abandoned gas station. While the taco truck’s franchised neighbors offer a bargain-priced menu, the truck does them one better by offering sheer deliciousness along with a good priceand a menu as comprehensive as any sit-down restaurant’s, from dollar tacos to platters of carne asada ($8). Tacos are all lovingly prepared on fresh and very corny tortillas with plenty of beef, chicken, or pork. The truck’s burrito ($4) bests anything offered by the chains, and shows true attention to detail, with flecks of fresh cilantro and scallions nestled among the beans, rice, and meat. The truck’s finest offering and biggest bargain is the ceviche taco ($2.50): A huge helping of shrimp cooked in the acid of limes is served with tomatoes, cilantro, and onions, on top of a sizable tortilla, all with a gigantic dollop of avocado on top.
