Necessity really is the mother of (re)invention, and we’re seeing the applications of this like nobody’s business in the restaurant world right now. I, for one, love the advancements in pricing and new plethora of double happy hours. Ponti Seafood Grill joins the mix with their 4:00-6:30pm and 9:00-10:30pm daily hours of happy, including $5 wines, $4 wells and a price-tiered food menu that ranges from $5-10 dollars. They’ve made a few changes, too. Ponti may have a very unique setting at the foot of the Fremont bridge, a nearly 20 year history, and a mass of loyal clientele, but they aren’t too entrenched to alter their lounge to fit a new concept, calling it Cafe Ponti. There’s a $12 bacon cheeseburger, as well as a $12 steak frites, and all the entrees run $15 or less, coming in at less than half of the price of a dining room entree. This is a smart thing to do to bring in the regulars more regularly; don’t touch what works with the restaurant, just get them packing the bar.Ponti Seafood Grill3014 3rd Avenue N.Lounge happy hour 4:00-6:30pm and 9:00-10:30pmDinner daily at 5pm
