If you had to pick two places to be sandwiched between, you could do a whole lot worse than the Triple Door’s gorgeous, stately main stage and Wild Ginger. While at the Musicquarium, you can pick and choose from the pan-Asian menu upstairs, and ogle the ticket holders on their way to see Loudon Wainwright III down below. But the MQ has its own vibe, too—and its own happy hour. Every day from 4 to 7 p.m., $3 beverages include Elysian IPA, Mac and Jacks Amber, a dry white from Spain, a Chilean, and six highball options (Bacardi rum, Gordon’s vodka, and the like). To whet your appetite: A $3 bar menu listing grilled pork skewers, salt and pepper squid, Asian barbecued pork with hot mustard, and Triple Door sweet and spicy crosscut ribs. The same very serviceable $3 bar menu (but not the discounted drink menu) is served between 10 p.m. and midnight, when oftentimes a local DJ or eclectic performer will entertain the stool-sitters while the soft glow of the oversized aquarium (hence the name, huh?) makes everyone look just a little bit more fantastic. 216 Union St., 206-838-4333.
