Mingle with do-gooding guzzlers at this month’s Happy Hour for Hope on

Mingle with do-gooding guzzlers at this month’s Happy Hour for Hope on Wednesday August 11 at Agua Verde (1303 NE Boat Street). The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. and will benefit Children’s Home Society of Washington (CHSW), which offers education programming, counseling and adoption services for troubled children. Don Julio will be sponsoring the event, and all proceeds from shots and Baja’ritas–a drink made with limes, tequila and orange liqueur–will go toward the non-profit. Agua Verde is perhaps best known for its spectacular view of Lake Washington and conveniently placed kayak rentals, just below the restaurant. Bright umbrellas flank the deck at the waterfront cafe, and the colorful interior mirrors the menu. If drinking for a cause isn’t incentive enough, maybe blue skies are–the sun is expected to at least make an appearance Wednesday. Happy Hour for Hope takes place on the second Wednesday of every month and is sponsored in part by Seattle Weekly. Next month’s event, to be held on September 8 at Bad Monkey Bistro in South Lake Union, will benefit Seattle AIDS Walk, the annual Lifelong AIDS Alliance fundraiser which takes place on September 25 at Volunteer Park.
