Sound View Cafe Unwind at a window table and study the cool blue of Puget Sound, the Olympics reaching impossible heights, and ferries sailing to and fro across the water. It’s undeniably breathtaking. Turn around to see who’s accompanying you and you’ll find a flock of tourists happily chowing down on sandwiches, fiddling with their tour group ID badges, and studying their guide books. Tucked cozily into the back of Pike Place Market, Sound View Cafe serves breakfast all day; the restaurant also offers unremarkable soups and sandwiches, and a sneeze-guarded salad bar. Items like the salmon sandwich, which lacks spice, are redeemed in part by the overall freshness and excellent service—though even the huevos rancheros are bland and nondescript. Most dishes run $6 to $9. SAMANTHA STOREY 1501 Pike Place, Suite 501, 206-623-5700. PIKE PLACE MARKET
