Quizno’s This fast-food sub shop courts people on the go who crave hot toasted sandwiches, apparently a booming demographic. From the less-than-appetizing print ads, you’d never guess that Quizno’s fare was even edible; thankfully, the food proves far more appealing than the publicity. The “turkey lite” on wheat is sprinkled with a fat-free red wine vinaigrette dressing; the classic Italian sub packs a heap of salami, pepperoni, capicola, and ham—your basic meat quartet—plus mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, red onion, black olives, and that same vinaigrette. The meatball sandwich boasts huge globes of meat (yes, we said it) along with melted mozzarella, marinara sauce galore, and sautéed peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Subs come in three sizes: four and a half inch ($3.99), eight-inch ($5.49), and foot-long ($7.79). Besides the location listed below, Quizno’s operates nine other Seattle outposts. 221 First Ave. S., 206-621-7787. PIONEER SQUARE
