Lovers of Miles James’ famed Dot’s Charcuterie and Bistrot have been holding

Lovers of Miles James’ famed Dot’s Charcuterie and Bistrot have been holding out hope for the shuttered upper Fremont spot to re-open with something similar. Well, don’t hold your breath as it was recently announced that Eriko Sugawara, owner of the downtown Seattle Benihana, will be opening a ‘Japanese family comfort food’ space in early 2015 called Suga.

Head to Sheri LaVigne’s (of Melrose Market’s Calf and Kid) new entry on the food scene, Culture Club, when it opens early next year. With yet another spot on Capitol Hill, it’ll be all about the cheese here with flights, rotating mac n’ cheese creations and seasonal dishes. Cheese lovers will rejoice in the fact that LaVigne will be holding seminars in the space and dishing up what hopes to be the best plate of fromage in town.

Anchovies & Olives is celebrating the glorious bivalve with seven Sundays of briny delights from noon to 3 p.m. Chef Kyl Hasselbauer will offer eight varieties of oysters, alongside eight wines from Wine Director Justin Rosgen, who will talk about the wines and their region as the afternoon progresses. Reservations are recommended but not required—and can be made online or by calling 206.838.8080.E
