The crisp autumn breeze is no reason to think that the market season is coming to a close. There are still plenty of delicious fruits, vegetables, and other products gracing the tables of Seattle markets and now even more interesting events to look forward to at specific markets! Beginning this weekend, you can finally get those kitchen knives sharpened at the U District and West Seattle markets for as little as $2 to $4.50 per knife. This service (inspired by the knife-sharpening booths at European markets and places in San Francisco) will be provided by a local business called Kitchen Song, and as long as you bring the knives wrapped in newspaper (you don’t want to scare anyone!), they’ll be happy to sharpen them while you finish collecting produce from the still thriving local farms. And just in case you’re at a loss for what to pick up while your utensils are busy, check out the incredible selection of melons andthe sweet and hot peppers that can add a little spice to any meal.
