Julia’s on Broadway is really three establishments in one. Weekend brunch fuels a fair portion of its success, while nightly piano performances keep the dinner hour humming along. But the place is at its best during happy hour, which runs from 3 to 6 p.m. daily. If you’re into cocktails, your best bet is the “Classic Cosmopolitan” ($3.95)—on the dry side, with a light cranberry zing to help introduce your good friends vodka and triple sec. A glass of the house chardonnay ($3.25) is an equally nice choice for summertime tippling; merlot ($3.25) is on hand for cool, rainy evenings. To quell your appetite, nachos ($4.95), fish and chips ($5.50), and quesadillas ($4.95) are available, though the menu’s two healthiest choices—a generous hummus plate ($5.95) crowded with pita triangles, tzatziki, olives, and veggies and a Caesar salad ($3.95) with a robust anchovy accent—are also the best. 300 Broadway Ave. E., 206-860-1818.
