It takes a lot of beer to play golf, and apparently to make it. Peeked in to the warehouse on 12th Avenue that will host Smash Putt this weekend. Conceived and constructed by the artists behind Hazard Factory (many veterans of film set design and production), Smash Putt combines a built-from-scratch miniature golf course with The Running Man, putting your precious orb in various states of duress at each hole. The coolest hole has light sensors that trip when a ball rolls by, triggering power tools that may or may not destroy it. Another hole allows bystanders to foos you (as in, foosball) as you putt. There will also be a shooting gallery and bar. The event will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night in November, beginning with this Friday, the 13th**. Night time tee times will be 21 and over only, but the group is hosting two family friendly day courses on Saturday the 21st and 28th from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (Smash Putt, 912 12th Avenue, Fridays and Saturdays in November, 6:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Sundays 6:00 p.m. to midnight)**Expect the first night to be about working out the kinks and cut these crazy kids some slack.
