In Capitol Hill news, Esmeralda (1830 12th Ave), a “Mediterranean fusion” restaurant, has closed its doors for good. Owner-chef Robert Abergel had operated the eatery with his son and found its location challenging. Abergel has sold the business to a group planning to open a Chinese restaurant in its place, and continues to focus on his other restaurant, Topolino’s Pizza in Bellevue.

It appears that Wingdome (a wing-and-beer stop that’s already found a home in Greenwood, Kent, and Kirkland) may be settling in West Seattle. Consolidated Restaurants’ president, Jim Rowe, told the West Seattle Blog he was interested in the Junction location where part of the Capers restaurant used to be. A deal should be finalized over the next couple of months.
