If you work downtown and can’t quite cut out for the entire ceremony tomorrow, squeeze in free coffee and doughnut minis at Seattle Coffee Works from8:30am to 12:00 noon (111 Pike St.). If you haven’t visited this unique cafe before, SCW showcases several coffees all from local roasters. Owner Sebastian Simsch created a choose-your-own-adventure of coffee, where you can pick the roast and the way you want it served–as a pulled shot of the Synesso or a single cup of coffee via Miletta filter. As someone who wouldn’t care if she ever stepped foot in another tasting room ever again, I stop here often, and I like knowing there’s one place downtown I can go and keep up with coffee from someone who is completely and utterly obsessed with it (not just one brand of it). Borogove, Lighthouse, Vashon Island,… Sebastian rotates them all through the shop, so coffee smackdowns can become a part of your drinking regimen, and you can use Sebastian to help hone in on the best blend for your house.
