Here’s to El Norte!A new restaurant will open for business in the the former Cremant space at 1423 34th Avenue in Madrona on Tuesday, May 11, according to Central District News. June (yes, that’s the name of the place) will be headed by Chef Vuong Loc of Portage, who told us last month that he plans to serve French-inspired casual cuisine.If dive bars are more your style, here’s some potential good news for you: You may recall that El Norte (owned by the same folks who run Mr. Villa) has endured a rough couple months, thanks to its predecessor the Rose Garden’s notorious sketchy reputation. But Lake City Live reports that if all goes accordingly, El Norte will begin slinging drinks tomorrow– just in time for Cinco de Mayo.
