Longtime best friends and entrepreneurs Ruadhri (pronounced ‘Rory’) McCormick and Hannes Schindler will be opening a new restaurant/lounge called The Post 1914 in Pike Place Market in mid-September. Tucked into historic Post Alley, this off the beaten path new lounge will be located next to Kells Irish Pub, and takes its name from the address its street address: 1914 Post Alley. ‘The Post’ will be open daily for lunch and dinner and will operate from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. daily. In addition to the 60-seat occupancy indoor seating, The Post will feature patio seating for spectacular views of the Puget Sound, as well as great people-watching. The European-inspired, sleek decor will be complete with long-hanging light fixtures and mahogany booths that will line the bar area. For beer fans, beers on tap will include Guinness, Stella, Hefeweizen, and a few local brews including local favorite, Manny’s Pale Ale. And don’t forget about wine. The Post will have an impressive collection of red and white wines from all over the globe including Washington favorites. The shelves of the bar will be stocked with liquors that cover all of the basics, as well as an extensive collection of single malt scotches.
