Have you sufficiently recovered from March 17th? Good, because one of the city’s best beer events drops this weekend at Brouwer’s. The Hard Liver Barleywine Fest rolls out Saturday with over 50 beers to feature and runs until the barleywine runs out. The line up is studded. Anderson Valley represents with a beer done in a bourbon barrel that I’m dying to try, and Hale’s will have three vintages of Rudyard’s Rare. Avery Samaels, Lost Abby ’06 Angel’s Share, an ’06 Cyclops from Elysian, Left Hand, Schooner Exact, Silver CIty, Boundary Bay, and every permutation of the word “Old” + (names for crusty dudes and old timey things)… I could go on and on. (And that doesn’t even cover the special surprise kegs.) $2 gets you 3oz., $4 gets you 6oz., and if for some inexplicable reason you wanted a 12oz. of only one, it’ll cost you a mere $6.2009 Hard Liver Barleywine FestBrouwer’s Cafe, 400 N. 35th St.Sat-Sun, March 21st-22nd, open at 11:00am
